Actress Helen Mirren and her husband, director Taylor Hackford, have dropped the asking price on their longtime Los Angeles residence by $5.5 million, bringing the current listing to $19.5 million. The couple first put the expansive Hollywood Hills property on the market back in 2021, but it has remained unsold despite a major renovation project.
The home, which the pair have owned for decades, sits on over two acres of land and offers sweeping views of the city and the San Fernando Valley. The recent price cut reflects a significant adjustment from the original $25 million ask. According to listing details, the renovation was extensive and included updates to the kitchen, bathrooms, and outdoor living spaces. The property features a main house with multiple bedrooms, a guest house, a pool, and a tennis court.
Mirren and Hackford purchased the estate in the 1990s and have used it as their primary West Coast base. The decision to sell comes as the actress continues to work on film and television projects, though the couple has not publicly commented on their reasons for moving. Real estate experts note that the high-end market in Los Angeles has seen slower sales in recent months, particularly for properties in the upper price brackets. The home remains a standout for its privacy, size, and the star power of its owners.
